Our story
Since when does KapuzinerBierBand® play?
KapuzinerBierBand® was founded between the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009 from an initiative by Stefano Piovani.
The first rehearsal dates back to January 2009, while the first performance was at Ludwig’s Garten in Brescia on March 18, 2009, invited by the then Managing Director Dr. Sebastiano Bozzolini.
The first lineup was a quintet, at the beginning of 2010 the repertoire also required drums and, with the growing entertainment needs, the lineup also grew to the current one.

Why the name KapuzinerBierBand?
The “Kapuziner” are the Capuchin Friars who, among their many daily activities, make excellent beer according to the REINHEITSGEBOT, that is, the German purity law, a decree on the purity of beer and the regulations for making it, issued by Duke Wilhelm IV of Bavaria in 1516.
Just as the Kapuziner are ambassadors of the centuries-old tradition linked to the beer purity edict, in the same way Stefano Piovani has chosen purity in his artistic proposal without backing tracks or sequences, only live music, only songs played at Oktoberfest, whether traditional, covers or originals.
For the sake of completeness, we inform you that there is and never has been any kind of connection and/or relationship of any kind with the well-known WeiĂźbier brand of a German group.
Why Bavarian traditional music in Italy?
Since 1810, the German people have taught the tradition, the most famous festival in the world: Oktoberfest.
It lives on not only in music but also in films, art, and in general in all cultural expressions around the world.
KapuzinerBierBand® also wants to revive in Italy the musical entertainment tradition linked to folk music, also embracing the legacy of Italian folk music par excellence, "liscio," the common denominator between the German and Italian traditions: Waltzes, Polkas, Mazurkas, Marches, Galopp (fast polka) are the common roots of the tradition to be kept alive, a treasure of inestimable value.
